A bevy of significant 1/24 and 1/64 NASCAR diecasts were sold via eBay in 2025, from grails to promos, special finishes and door-numbers, and those that are simply in high demand and therefore demand high prices. Below are the most expensive 1/24 and 1/64 eBay NASCAR diecast sales of 2025, including some trends these sales showed during the year.

Priciest 1/24 sales of 2025

No. 5 – Kyle Larson 2024 Kansas Win Elite Gold Door-number ($2,255)

eBay/kbshowfan18

Modern Elite Gold 1/24s were some of the most consistent top-dollar diecasts of 2025, with eight appearing on the monthly top-five lists of the year. Topping all these Elite Gold sales was the door-number example of Kyle Larson’s Kansas Win, which sold in April for $2,255.

DIN No. 5 marks Larson’s incredible 0.001-second victory over Chris Buescher in the 2024 AdventHealth 400 at Kansas on May 4, 2024.

Larson’s Elite Gold Kansas Win also served as the most expensive modern-era diecast sold in 2025.

No. 4 – Dale Earnhardt signed 1997 “Crash Car” ($2,500)

eBay/racedaycollectibles

In one of his more memorable moments, though he made a career of them, Dale Earnhardt Sr. flipped in the closing laps of the 1997 Daytona 500. After careening off the wall, flipping, landing back on its wheels and skidding off the track, Earnhardt’s Monte Carlo appeared to be headed for the garage. However, Earnhardt noted his No. 3 Chevy was still in condition, or at least close enough, to finish out the race. As such, Earnhardt’s crew got to work getting the remnants of his car literally taped together so he could close out the final laps of the race.

Action first commemorated Earnhardt’s commitment to finishing the ’97 Daytona 500 in 1999 with the release of his “Crash Car,” one of the first examples of a Raced Version diecast, and to this day, perhaps the most extensively detailed in the damage recreated.

One example, which the seller said was autographed by the late seven-time champion in 1999, sold in June for $2,500.

No. 3 – Dale Earnhardt 1984 Monte Carlo “Blue Goose” Gold version ($2,650)

eBay/thinbottom

While Kyle Larson’s 2024 Kansas Win Elite Gold was the most expensive modern Gold version sold, it was beat out in April by another Gold version diecast from Dale Earnhardt.

In 2010, Action released a line of Earnhardt’s 1984, Wrangler-sponsored “Blue Goose” Monte Carlo. Earnhardt won his first race with Richard Childress that year and earned 22 top-10s in 30 races, good for a fourth-place season points finish.

Lionel’s 2010 production run commemorating Earnhardt’s 1984 season included over 600 Color Chrome versions and just 69 Gold versions.

One Gold version sold in April for $2,650 with an impressive 30 bids entered.

No. 2 – Jeff Gordon 1998 ChromaLusion Gold Elite prototype ($3,000)

eBay/wicked_qs_quick

Unlike modern NASCAR, special paint schemes remained a relative rarity in 1998. However, Jeff Gordon did break away from his iconic Rainbow Warriors scheme for the 1998 Winston, a special DuPont ChromaLusion design that also celebrated NASCAR’s 50th anniversary.

It appeared as if Gordon would be taking the victory in one-time scheme, but his No. 24 ran out of gas while he led on the final lap, which handed the win to Mark Martin.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Gordon’s ChromaLusion Chevy was forever commemorated with a massive run of diecasts and other memorabilia. Tens of thousands 1/24 and 1/64 examples were produced by Revell, Action, and Brookfield, with additional memorabilia, like bass fishing boats, a Chevy Tahoe, gas pumps and a ¼-scale helmet, donning the scheme.

Reportedly, three Gold version prototypes were also produced, though the Gold ChromaLusion diecast was never offered. However, at least one prototype apparently made its way into the hands of a collector. The eventual seller said they “had connections at Action back in the day,” which landed them one of Gold Elite protos. This prototype, sold on May 4, garnered an eye-popping sales price of $3,000.

No. 1 – Dale Earnhardt 1998 Brooks & Dunn Elite prototype ($4,639)

Among most prominent diecast-related newslines of 2025 is the sale of multiple examples of perhaps the ultimate NASCAR diecast holy grail, Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 Brooks & Dunn prototype.

Just six of these prototypes were produced, including test versions, a black-window bank, and production prototype. Despite just about every bit of memorabilia imaginable carrying the Earnhardt name, his likeness or his No. 3, the Brooks & Dunn diecasts were never produced, making them among the most historically sought-after cars in the hobby.

It was not publicly announced why the Brooks & Dunn Earnhardt cars weren’t produced outside of the six prototypes, though it is suspected the band’s logo used on the diecasts was licensed by concert promoters, which did not approve the licensing for Action to produce the diecasts.

With remarkable coincidence, four of these six prototypes were sold just a week apart. Three were sold by the son of late collector George Karalis for nearly $10,000 while another, an Elite version sold a week prior, also on eBay.

The Brooks & Dunn Elite prototype sold August 30 for $4,639, far and away the most expensive eBay NASCAR diecast sale of 2025.

Notable tidbits on the most expensive 1/24 diecast sales of 2025

Unsurprisingly, nearly all of the priciest 1/24s sold in 2025 were special versions of particular diecasts, such as prototypes, Door-numbers, specialty finishes, raced versions, etc. Some entries covered multiple “types,” like a Shane van Gisbergen 2025 Wendy’s Saucy Nuggs 1/24 that was sold in July which was a Color Chrome, Door-number version.

Among a select grouping of diecast types, raced versions/raced wins accounted for 16 of the most expensive 1/24 sales in 2025. Among special finishes, Color Chrome and Gold versions made eight appearances, with two Liquid Color and one Galaxy Color examples sold.

Five prototypes and two promotional diecasts earned spots on the list. There were five door-number examples and one DIN No. 1.

Three custom 1/24s also earned top-five placements. The priciest among them commemorated Richard Petty’s 1,000 start and sold in December for $925.

eBay/gfb00

The combined total for all top 60 1/24 sales in 2025 is $71,141. That works out to an average of about $1,186 per car on the list.  All top 1/24 sales in April, May, and September sold for over $1,000 each.

Dale Earnhardt cars account for one-quarter of the most expensive 1/24 eBay sales of 2025. Fifteen Earnhardt cars were among the top-five priciest diecasts sold each month.

Chase Elliott and Jeff Gordon each had 10 cars appear in the monthly lists, tying for the second-most appearances. Justin Allgaier (8), Kyle Larson (4), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (3) and Tyler Reddick (2) also had more than one car earn a spot in the top-five over the course of the year.

Chase Elliott and Dale Earnhardt each had three of their cars earn the title of most expensive 1/24 sale of the month in 2025. Jeff Gordon had two of his cars earn the top spot, while Justin Allgaier, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Elliott Sadler and Greg Biffle had one.

Priciest 1/64 sales of 2025

Diecast Mag began tracking the top three monthly 1/64 sales in May. As such, there isn’t a full year’s worth of information from which to glean, but a clear theme emerged in the second half of the year — the desirability of Red Bull Racing 1/64s.

Of the 24 top sales of 2025 from May through December, Red Bull Racing cars account for seven, or nearly one-third, of all top sales. Red Bull cars swept the top-three spots in November with a combined price of over $1,000. One Red Bull COT earned the spot for the most expensive sale of the month, even against the priciest 1/24 diecast sales.

Other notable stats include;

-Four of the priciest 1/64 sales were Dodge COTs.

-Patrick Carpentier’s 2008 Valvoline Dodge was the most expensive 1/64 sale of the month in May and December

-Promotional 1/64 diecasts accounted for three of the top sales (Reed Sorenson Super 8 Motels, Kyle Busch 2012 Monster Energy promo and Alex Bowman’s No. 7 Nikko Road Ripper/Toy State promo). One prototype, Jeff Gordon’s 2015 “Final Ride,” was also featured.

-The driver to appear the most in the 1/64 sales of 2025 was Brian Vickers. All Vickers cars were from his time with Red Bull Racing.

-The combined price for the 24 priciest 1/64 sales of 2025 is $6,0009, an average of $250 per diecast.

No. 5 – Brian Vickers 2008 Red Bull Toyota COT ($316)

Brian Vickers’ 2008 Red Bull COT is among the Team Red Bull standout 1/64 sales of 2025. Vickers earned three top-fives, six top-tens and one pole during the 2008 campaign.

One example of his No. 83 Red Bull sold Oct. 30 for $316 with 24 bids entered.

No. 4 – Brian Vickers 2010 Red Bull Toyota COT ($325)

Vickers’ 2010 campaign was cut dramatically short by blood clots and an eventual heart surgery. In 11 races in the No. 83 Red Bull Camry that season, Vickers earned three top-10s.

A 1/64 example of his 2010 ride sold for $325 in November. This example was the priciest Vickers 1/64 diecast sold from May through December 2025.

No. 3 Alex Bowman Nikko Radio Control Road Ripper/Toy State ($326)

eBay/onbrannd_diecast

Black-window cars typically are the among the lowest-value diecasts, but the third-priciest 1/64 sale of 2025 proves there are exceptions.

Alex Bowman joined Tommy Baldwin Racing for the 2015 season, and a consistent scheme for the future Hendrick driver was the No. 7 Nikko Radio Control and Road Ripper/Toy State Chevrolet. Bowman raced the blue and black scheme 11 times during the 2015 campaign, including his failed attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500.

To mark the partnership, Nikko released a promotional 1/64, a rare non-Lionel release of the time. Given Bowman’s later success, the promotional aspect of the car and its uniqueness among 1/64s of its era, the black-windowed promo sold for $326 in June with 10 bids entered.

And, spoiler alert, it’s the only non-Red-Bull 1/64 for top annual sales.

No. 2 AJ Allmendinger 2007 Red Bull ($450)

Red Bull Racing 1/64s seemingly grew in value over the course of the year, or at least those of AJ Allmendinger.

At No. 2 for 2025 is Allmendinger’s 2007 Red Bull Camry Toyota, which sold for $450 in November. Another example sold in August for $299, not exactly “cheap,” but certainly a bit easier on the wallet.

No. 1 AJ Allmendinger 2008 Red Bull Toyota COT ($1,010)

Far and away the priciest 1/64 sale of 2025 is another Allmendinger Red Bull. His 2008 silver No. 84 Red Bull Toyota commanded a staggering $1,010 in October. While that price may seem out of the realm of reality, the Red Bull COT earned 20 bids among three bidders for its eye-watering price.

It’s four-figure sales price made it the most expensive 1/64 sold in 2025 and the most expensive eBay NASCAR diecast sale, among all auctions and scales, in October.
