The most expensive 1/24 sales of October all crossed the $1,000 mark, and include both brand-new and older diecasts, while several hard-to-find 1/64s have found new owners.

Top-five priciest 1/24 sales of October

Two cars tied for the No. 4 spot this month, one of Jeff Gordon’s most exclusive diecasts and a door-number example of one of Kyle Busch’s 2026 cars.

Kyle Busch’s 2026 Rebel Root Beer Whiskey 1/24 recently shipped to buyers and dealers, including DIN No. 8. The standard release door-number example sold Oct. 31 for $1,000. Busch raced the scheme to a 12th-place finish at Circuit of the Americas in March.

In 2006, Gordon’s 75th Cup Series was commemorated with a special Presidential Platinum 1/24. Featuring an all-platinum body and wheels, and autographed by Gordon with COA, just 200 examples were reportedly produced, over half of which were shipped to GM dealerships.

Given the unique finish and limited production, the Presidential Platinum 1/24 is rare to come by and commands impressive prices when sold. One example, which the seller reports was originally owned by a Hendrick Motorsports employee, sold Oct. 24 for $1,000.

Another Gordon Presidential Platinum sold in March 2025 for $900.

Gordon’s Presidential Platinum version was preceded in 2005 by a Rusty Wallace release, which included a base signed by Wallace and Action Performance Companies founder Fred Wagenhals.

Another special release lands at No. 3.

Lionel has ramped up its Elite Gold offerings in the last two years, including Denny Hamlin’s 2025 AMPM Las Vegas Raced Win. Hamlin captured his 60th Cup Series win at the South Point 400, passing Chase Briscoe and Kyle Larson in the final laps to earn an emotional victory while Hamlin’s father was hospitalized.

Lionel offered 36 of the Elite Gold Las Vegas Raced Win No. 11s last November, the final Elite Gold release of 2025. The door-number example (DIN No. 11) of the Elite Gold run sold Oct 21 for $1,199.

The top two spots for October are two examples of the same car, though they sold for wildly different — and notably high — prices. Once again landing on the list, twice in this case, is Chase Elliott’s 2014 Nationwide Series Homestead Elite Raced Version signed by Elliott and crew chief Greg Ives. The battered 1/24 honors Elliott’s 2014 Nationwide championship, which earned him the title of the youngest national series champion. Elliott finished 17th in the Homestead race after capturing the title the week before at Phoenix.

One version, earning 44 bids, sold for $1,384 on Oct. 4. That appears to be a relative bargain to the dual-autographed version that sold Oct. 22 for $2,200, the priciest 1/24 sale of October.

Elliott’s Homestead Raced Version has been a mainstay among the priciest 1/24s over the last two years. Two dual-autographed Elite versions sold in May and June of this year for $1,900. Two other examples sold in 2025 for $900 and $1,100.

Kasey Kahne’s 2005 Trus Joist Busch Series No. 79 appeared in just one race, and it is among the most difficult of Kahne’s 1/64s to purchase.

Trus Joist sponsored the No. 79 Evernham Motorsports Dodge for the 2005 Funai 250 at Richmond. Kahne drove the one-off ride to a fourth-place finish behind Carl Edwards, Elliott Sadler and Johnny Sauter. Though over 2,000 1/24 examples were produced, the carded 1/64 version is hard to come by. This was underscored when one example sold this month for $145.50, garnering eight bids.

At No. 4 is a Motorsports Authentics Divers Select example of Kyle Busch’s 2007 Kellogg’s Impala COT. The COTs in this line are highly sought-after by collectors with intricate detailing, including an opening hood. Busch’s 2007 No. 5 commanded $150 when it sold Oct. 8.

Another hard-to-find Kasey Kahne ride lands at No. 3, his 2011 Red Bull Toyota. The No. 4 Red Bull ride commanded $150 when sold Oct. 28. A Red Bull Racing 1/64 has been among the priciest sales of the month all but one month in 2026.

Runner-up for October is Kyle Larson’s first Cup Series car.

Larson made four starts in the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Cup car in 2013 at the end of the season. This included three starts with long-time sponsor Target. Larson earned finished of 37th, 23rd and 15th in the No. 51 Target car before joining Chip Ganassi Racing full time in 2014.

Larson’s first Cup diecast, a window-box version produced by Action, sold for $152 Oct. 24.

Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 Brooks & Dunn diecasts are among the most unique among all NASCAR diecasts. The car never appeared on track, likely due to licensing issues. It was never produced, either. Reportedly just six 1/24 prototypes were created. Coupled with The Intimidator’s legacy, the Brooks & Dunn 1/24s are the ultimate grail. One example sold last year for $4,600, the most expensive single diecast sale of the year. A trio, owned by late avid collector George Karalis, sold in September 2025 for an eye-watering $9,900.

There is no evidence suggesting a 1/64 prototype was ever produced of the Brooks & Dunn No. 3, but the lore surrounding the car appears to be enough for a likely custom of it to command an incredible price.

The seller’s listing notes the “original production status” of the Brooks & Dunn 1/64 was not verified, and it could be “a custom or specialty piece.” Given the allure of Earnhardt’s Brooks & Dunn ride, it can be speculated the piece is a well-done custom with an opening hood.

Regardless, it sold for a hefty $475 Oct. 23, the top 1/64 sale of October.
