It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to NASCAR Diecast Mag, which aims to be the premier resource for information, news, updates and perspective related to NASCAR diecast collecting while highlighting the personalities and businesses of the fantastic hobby.
As a collector, I’ve long wanted to know more about NASCAR diecasts, how they are made, the companies and people behind them, the logistics of making the hobby possible and more. I also relish anytime I hear a collector’s story — what got them into the hobby, what they like to collect, who are they outside of collectors. These are the stories we want to tell.

There are great diecast collector communities already available, to be sure, but the intention of Diecast Mag is to dive deeper into the people, businesses, history, news and processes that make this hobby so fascinating — the aspects that keep us priming our wallets anytime we come across a diecast we want in our collection. I have long preferred to serve as a local journalist or editor because these outlets serve as the voice of their tight-knit communities. They tell the stories not otherwise told, and that is a foundational characteristic of Diecast Mag.
To begin, Diecast Mag will run a series of features and recurring article themes.
Under the news section you’ll find the most up-to-date information on the latest new releases, DNPs and any significant announcements related to NASCAR diecasts. The new releases and DNPs will be grouped together by month, but these article will be updated anytime Lionel Racing (or perhaps another entity down the road) offers new diecasts or announces DNPs.
Our features section will divided into several categories. The special features section will highlight NASCAR diecast collectors, businesses and intriguing articles covering the behind-the-scenes stories with perspectives from industry experts. Our features section is also highlighted by a recurring series of articles. These include Holy Grails, diecasts that are extremely rare, valuable or sought-after. One-Hit Wonders will feature NASCAR schemes that only ever competed in a single race but are forever memorialized by being produced as a diecast. I will also write a series of columns under the Letters from the Publisher section about the hobby in general, some serious, some absolutely not.
As these publication gets up and running, I want to hear from you. Diecast Mag aims to be a community voice. I want you, our readers, to continually reach out with your story ideas, suggestions, pertinent information, perspectives, and yes, even your criticism. Great community resources are an amalgamation of voices within the communities they reach and represent.
I’m thrilled to welcome you to this community.
