If the most expensive eBay NASCAR diecast sales of November are any indication, the passing of a decade is a sweet spot for maximizing the value of certain diecasts. All five of the priciest 1/24-scale diecasts of November were based on cars raced in either 2014 or 2015. Four of them feature just two drivers.
Starting the list at No. 5 is Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2015 Mountain Dew Baja Blast 1/24. All versions of this diecast are sought after, and the model sold Nov. 2 was even more desirable as the Color Chrome Elite version, one of just 25 examples, with DIN No. 1. The No. 88 Chevy SS racked up 24 bids and sold for $480.

Two Jeff Gordon diecasts earned the No. 4 and No. 2 spot for November.
The No. 4 spot goes to a special scheme commemorating one of Gordon’s sponsors, Axalta. In 2014 Gordon was on hand at SEMA to unveil that Axalta’s Radiant Red was deemed “Color of the Year.” Gordon sported that color on his flame-emblazoned No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS for the Phoenix playoff race in 2014. Lionel produced a diecast version of the playoff car, complete with yellow window banner and front splitter, including 84 examples of a Color Chrome version.
On Nov. 6, DIN No. 24 of Gordon’s Axalta Radiant Red Color Chrome was sold for $500, the fourth-highest sale of the month.

Landing at No. 2 is a celebration of Gordon’s 93rd and final Cup Series win.
In his final full-time season, Gordon was in the championship hunt as the playoff contenders battled at Martinsville in the 33rd race of the season. Gordon, who racked up nine wins at Martinsville during his career, battled with Jamie McMurray and others over the course of the last 50 laps to capture the victory and secure his ticket to the championship round at Homestead. More memorable perhaps was Gordon’s post-race emotions, the four-time champion overcome by the dramatic dash to the finish to keep his hopes alive of another Cup title in his final full season.
While an impressively high 3,601 Raced Win 1/24 examples were produced of Gordon’s 2015 Martinsville victory, all can be considered Holy Grails among Gordon’s faithful. This is underscored by Diecast Depot selling one example for $549.99 on Nov. 23, the runner-up for the most expensive sale of November.

Though Gordon triumphed at Martinsville, it was Kyle Busch who took the 2015 Cup Series title in improbable fashion. And two such Busch 2015 No. 18 Camry’s earned the No. 3 and No. 1 most expensive sales of the month.
Busch missed the first 11 races of the Cup season due to a broken leg and fractured foot he suffered in the Xfinity Series season-opening race at Daytona. Despite the truncated season, it was a wildly impressive run for Busch. He secured a win at Sonoma in just his fifth race back from injury to secure a playoff spot. He then won three of the next four subsequent races. Busch earned a spot in the Championship 4 with a top-five finish in each of the Round of 8 races. That set up perhaps one of the more unlikely championships in NASCAR history when he won at Homestead, earning himself the moniker of Cup Series champion for the season despite missing 11 races.
Busch’s 2015 Homestead Raced Win, in Color Chrome finish, and DIN No. 18 of the No. 18 Crispy M&Ms Camry, sold for an impressive $528 on Nov. 16 with 31 bids.
However, that sale pales in comparison to another version of a “clean” version of the same scheme.
Just 25 Liquid Color Elite versions of Busch’s 2015 Crispy M&Ms, finished in an eye-catching bright green, were produced. Perhaps unsurprisingly, DIN No. 18 fetched a lot. In fact, it earned its seller a healthy four figures. With a starting price of just $39.99, the Door Number Liquid Color Elite racked up 37 bids, and when the figurative hammer fell, it had sold for a whopping $1,143.19, the most expensive eBay diecast auction sale of November.

Diecast Mag’s Most Expensive eBay Diecast Sales of the Month are compiled from eBay sold listings in which the diecast was sold via auction or the Buy It Now feature. Only single diecast sales are included and those found by searching specific NASCAR diecast 1/24 criteria. Diecast Mag is not affiliated with eBay and makes no claims the auction prices listed were the final price paid by the auction winner.
