Top five priciest 1/24 sales of September 2026

The annals of NASCAR diecast history will likely outline 2026 being the year of high-dollar Carson Hocevar and Kyle Busch rides, and September further underscores such. Still, the Earnhardt name garners plenty of attention, as well. All five of the priciest 1/24 sales of the month are cars from Hocevar, Busch or an Earnhardt, and all commanded at least $1,000.

A one-hit wonder lands at No. 5, an autographed, Color Chrome version of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2015 Mountain Dew Dewshine ride, one of 100 produced. The Dewshine scheme was created to mark the release of Mountain Dew’s special release soda, which was clear, made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, and did not include orange juice (unlike regular Mountain Dew). The scheme ran in the 2015 Food City 500 In Support of Steve Byrnes at Bristol in which Junior started 13th and finished 16th.

The autographed Color Chrome Dewshine ride sold for $1,000.

Carson Hocevar cars occupy spots No. 4 and tied for No. 1 this month with his 2025 Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente 1/24. An Elite version, one of 122 produced, sold Sept. 2 for $1,050, just slightly less than the $1,076 commanded by another Elite model last month.

Tied for the most expensive 1/24 this month is a Color Chrome Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente 1/24. The Color Chrome version, one of 60 produced, sold Sept. 10 for $1,200.

That 1/24 tied with two others selling for $1,200 this month. One is an incredibly high-priced Action Racing Collectibles 1999 Dale Earnhardt Goodwrench/Wrangler 1/24 signed by the late Intimidator. Other Action examples of this diecast have sold on eBay recently for around $25 to $40, but the in-person autographed version — the seller posted a photo of Earnhardt signing it on the listing — was apparently appealing enough to command four figures from the buyer when it was sold Sept. 25.

Kyle Busch’s 2015 M&M’s Crispy ride, in which Busch won at Homestead to secure his first Cup championship, has been among the most sought-after rides since Rowdy’s death earlier this year. The scheme appears again this month, though this time it’s the commemorative Championship version with autograph, one of just 216 produced.

The listing shows the original receipt for the car, purchased through Kyle Busch Motorsports for $156.94 processed in June 2016. The sale of $1,200, is more than six times the original purchase price.

Top five priciest 1/64 sales of September 2026

It may read as a figurative broken record, but once again a Red Bull Racing diecast is among the most expensive 1/64 sales of the month. In 2026, only one month has not included Red Bull 1/64 as one of the priciest eBay sales of each month so far.

This month’s Red Bull entry is Brian Vickers 2011 No. 83 Red Bull Camry. It was sold for $190 Sept. 4.

At No. 4 is a car that, though it’s desirable, seemed to command a highly inflated price.

In 2016 Tony Stewart ran a Bobby Allison tribute throwback scheme for the Bojangles Southern 500. The red and gold Coca-Cola No. 14 commemorated the scheme Allison drove to victory lane in the 1971 and 1972 Southern 500 events. Stewart’s throwback is a sought-after ride in 1/64 and isn’t readily available — just four have sold on eBay since February. However, the version selling Sept. 17 for $195 far exceeds the price paid for the others sold this year, which changed owners for $17.50 to $40.

Kyle Busch’s 2012 Monster Energy Nationwide Series promotional 1/64 returns to the priciest sales list this month. This marks the seventh version to have sold this year on eBay with each commanding at least $150. The latest sale commanded $202.50 and earned 31 bids when sold on Sept. 2.

Winner’s Circle ran several collection-themed carded 1/64s for Dale Earnhardt’s 2001 Goodwrench ride. Each collection featured a different insert, including a replica hood or mini license plate, but perhaps the most desirable was the “Team Authentics” versions which included pieces of a The Intimidator’s driver suit/uniform with a card. One example, which included a portion of Earnhardt’s driving suit, sold this month for $210.

Two other versions of the Winner’s Circle Team Authentics Earnhardt collection with firesuit pieces sold in July for $175 and $150.

Taking the top spot for September by a significant margin is Patrick Carpentier’s 2008 Dodge Car of Tomorrow. Carpentier, with a wide-ranging motorsports background, raced for Gillett Evernham in 2008 in which he made 24 starts for the team with five DNQs. The Valvoline No. 10 Carpentier sported that year is the only 1/64 diecast produced for one of Carpentier’s rides. Though all Dodge COTs are desirable among collectors, Carpentier’s 2008 Valvoline ride is among the hardest to find. It’s also one of the most expensive.

One version apparently sold Sept. 21 for $500. That’s more than double the $200 a buyer paid for another version last May and the $225 that exchanged hands on another example last December.
