There aren’t any great surprises in the highest sales for single NASCAR diecasts for August. Diecasts with sought-after DINs, Holy Grails and the Earnhardt name all earned spots on the priciest eBay sales of the month. But as usual, the ingredients might be familiar, but the final recipe is still worth tasting.

A prime example is the No. 5 sale for August, Chris Buescher’s 2022 Bristol Night Raced Win with the added bonus of being autographed and DIN No. 1. The win was Buescher’s second in the Cup Series and his first since a rain-shortened win in the 2016 Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono. Just 29 of these autographed, Liquid Color versions were created, and one collector apparently jumped at the opportunity to buy the DIN No. 1 at $700 through the Buy It Now feature. As such, Buscher’s 2022 win marks the highest price paid for a Next Gen diecast in our Most Expensive eBay Diecast Sales of The Month.

The fourth-highest sale for August is one of the several Holy Grails for Jeff Gordon collectors. Gordon’s 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Impala SS Elite sold for $990 on Aug. 3 with 21 bids. (Big) Spoiler alert, it’s not the only time this scheme lands on this list.

Another JDK Custom, again featuring Dale Earnhardt, takes the No. 3 spot for August. Earnhardt’s 1982, No. 15 late model. According to the listing, JDK Custom’s 1/24 features interior detailing, window bracing and wheel hubs that matched the original late model driven by The Intimidator. Twelve bids were placed for the custom, and it broke four figures with a sale price of $1,025 when it was sold Aug. 5.

As previewed, Jeff Gordon’s 2012 TMNT ride makes a double appearance in August, also taking the No. 2 spot. In this case, a Color Chrome Elite, one of 36 produced, was sold for $1,400 through Buy It Now.

The priciest diecast of August is an autographed version of Chase Elliott’s 2011 Aaron’s Snowball Derby Raced Win late model. Autographed versions of these diecasts were made available through Elliott’s website with just 150 manufactured with a certificate of authenticity. As such, it commands a pretty penny, or more accurately, a whole heap of them. The final sale price for the highly sought-after late model diecast was $2,025 with 35 bids placed.
